We see lot many sites which provides image hosting services (Example).

But as I understand, all of these provides functionality like uploading image (multiple upload is a “new advanced feature”), creating galleries, slide shows and some of them provide direct linking as well.

I want a photo sharing site which provides all of the above features including direct linking with some added features. Let me explain in detail.

Let’s say i have an account in XYZ photo sharing site. I upload all my photos there. Now I want to link selected photos in my site. Right now there is no way i can do that if the Photo Sharing site doesn’t provide direct linking. Now, let’s say they are providing direct linking. Problem here is, i clicked all my snaps using a 8p camera and all the snaps are of 1600X1200 size. Which means around 1.5 MB per file which leads to high data usage every time page loads (for client browser).

So, to avoid this scenario i have to re size the selected snaps to 640X480 and upload them again and then link which is frustrating.

Photo sharing site should have a feature where i can mention some parameters as query string or something. These parameters include size in pixel, color or greyscale and etc. So the service will give an altered image to my site to display as desired preserving the original with it. This way i can use the same image multiple times with different parameters in case i want to display it at different places in different sizes.

Photo sharing service can provide this service for free (add watermark or something in this case) or premium account for some fee. It would be very very useful in my case where I don’t want to share all my photos and provide some tailored comments depending on where i am using the photo.
